Costa Rica trip

Adam and I just got back from a trip to Costa Rica this past weekend. We traveled with 3 Nicaraguan youth in order to lead a training for some Costa Rican Mennonite youth on how to plan the annual Youth Convention.

Adam passed his 24 hour stomach bug to me. I spent all day laying in bed wondering if I would be able to go to Costa Rica.

At 5pm other youth from the planning team of the Congreso came over to have a devotional and dinner.

At 5am we were off to Costa Rica! Our bus ride was fast, but hot. The air conditioning was broken…

We arrived at the airport and sat under a palm tree waiting for our ride.

We spent the afternoon visiting with a pastor and his wife and then went to the mall with a group of people and ordered 6 pizzas!

We held a workshop for the planning team of the Costa Rican Congreso focusing on teamwork as well as the nitty gritty details of event planning.

In the evening we went to a youth worship service and stopped at Wendy’s on the way home (aka, there is no Wendy’s in Nicaragua. Bring on the Frosty’s!)

We attended a morning worship service where our hosts are the pastors.

In the afternoon we drove out into the countryside and saw a lot of beautiful Catholic churches as well as gorgeous mountain scenery.

Sunday night everyone came over to the house we were staying for dinner and farewells. We headed back to Managua on Monday!

We were incredibly blessed by the hospitality and generosity of our Costa Rican hosts!
